Solar Power awareness is increasing and the technology cost is decreasing day by day. In 2014, the cost of 1KW Solar Power plant was near about 1 lakh/KW(Kilo Watts) for a Grid Tied/ Grid Interactive Solar Power Plant. However, within 5 years, when we are in the year 2019 the cost has been reduced to ₹50,000/KW for a small residential rooftop Solar plant(Grid Tied without battery). Current Solar panel prices vary from ₹ 18/Watt to ₹ 24/Watt with polycrystalline cells and it varies from ₹ 23/Watt to ₹ 30/Watt with monocrystalline cells. There are many Indian cell manufacturers like Adani Power, Vikram Solar, Renewsys, Rhine Solar etc, who are constantly focusing on quality improvement and a better cell efficiency along with working on price reduction. The Solar power customers are becoming more aware of the price changes now a days and they are smarter now. They are compelling the new Solar EPC players to reduce their overall prices to suit the downgrading market. However, this is a long term failure of Solar Power. People should no doubt search for a price reduction, but they must also consider quality and assurance about the product. There are many cautions to be taken by the customer like Solar cable (DC Solar cable) quality and size being used, Solar Mounting structure being used, protection devices like DC fuse, SPDs etc being used and most importantly the Solar Inverter being used by the EPCs, as this is the brain of the whole Solar Power plant.
